Inman Park is one of Atlanta's most enchanting historic neighborhoods. It is the oldest planned neighborhood in the city, and one of the oldest garden communities in the nation. Inman Park is bordered by Lake, Hurt, and DeKalb Avenues as well as Krog Street. In relation to other intown neighborhoods, Inman Park is east of Little Five Points and Old Fourth Ward, west of Candler Park, south of Poncey-Highland and north of Reynoldstown. Inman Park also has the benefit of the Inman Park MARTA station, which makes it even more accessible and convenient for residents and visitors.
Inman Park was designed as a garden community, and maintains its original park like characteristics today. The streets wind around the rolling neighborhood hills while the houses are tucked beautifully on large forested lots. Homes architectural styles include Queen Anne, Colonial Revival, Shingle Style, and bungalows. It is hard not to stop and stare at some of these homes, and marvel at their intricate details and grandeur. In addition to historic single-family homes, there is also a variety of newer construction homes, luxury condos, townhomes and loft conversions available in Inman Park.
Inman Park has a great recreational park, swimming pool, and a significant amount of green space for escaping the hustle and bustle of big city life. Inman Park is known for its spirited and eclectic neighborhood festival and tour of homes, which occurs annually on the last weekend of April. Residents of Inman Park are known to be very active in their neighborhood association, working hard to protect and restore their historic community.
